St. Francis of the Woods cares for 500 acres of beautiful Oklahoma land. To help support the Center, St. Francis of the Woods sells its hay, garden produce, and eggs on site. St. Francis believed that traces of the Divine were found in the world around us. He loved and respected nature as an image of Christ. In his Canticle of the Sun, he engages fire and water, moon and stars, in the worship of the Creator. Of the earth he says, "Be praised, my Lord, through our sister Mother Earth, who feeds us and rules us, and produces various fruits with colored flowers and herbs." At St. Francis of the Woods we try to honor St. Francis by respecting the land in our care. We try to engage in the most sustainable farming practices and we do not use pesticides on any of our hay or crops.

St. Francis of the Woods is also excited to work with Vision Farms of Guthrie, Oklahoma. Vision Farms promotes local food sovereignty and local food security by growing high quality, wholesome food for hungry people and donating the majority of this food to local food distribution organizations in Oklahoma. St. Francis of Assisi dedicated his life to "Lady Poverty." He found Christ in the poor and the hungry. St. Francis of the Woods is honored that some of our land is going to help feed those in need in North Central Oklahoma.
