Wild Wanderers: Fall 2022

Youth ages 8-14 are invited to weekly group adventures through the Wild Wanderers drop-off wilderness program. Each season includes active games, inspiring stories, skill-developing projects and exciting challenges, all based on the forest school model which embraces both inquiry-based and place-based learning. Details at a Glance: when: twelve Fridays, 10/7/22 - 1/13/23 (no class on break days 11/25, 12/23, or 12/30), from 11-2pm who: ages 8-14 (drop-off program) where: St. Francis of the Woods (a 580 acre non-profit in Coyle, OK with the vision of transforming the world through community, creativity, and care for nature) cost: $250/student for 12 weekly sessions (apply for a full or partial scholarship at www.stfrancisofthewoods.org/scholarship) handbook: Please read our school Handbook (linked during checkout) in its entirety. Emergent Curriculum Our program draws inspiration from educational philosophies including the forest school model, inquiry-based learning, nature-connected mentoring, and place-based education. Mentors model using observation skills to deeper our connection to the natural world.
