Prairiewood Forest School
in Coyle, OK

Through our year-round secular enrichment classes for ages 2-17, we offer playful, inquiry-led immersion opportunities for children and youth to connect with community, personal creativity, and the natural world. Each class session starts at Prairiewood, our Outdoor Classroom, and may also involve time feeding chickens, planting wildflowers, harvesting in the garden, and exploring our forested trails. Classes are kept small and fill quickly, so click on a class below for more details and to apply for our enrollment lottery, or scroll to the bottom for photos and stories from past sessions!

You can see photos and stories from past and current classes below as well as on our school Instagram and Facebook page, and can help us support more students in benefiting from Forest School by sponsoring a student scholarship here.

Please write prairiewood@stfrancisofthewoods.org with any questions about our Forest School classes and other nature-based programming, including private programs we could offer to your class or other group (wildcrafting, tea blending, garden field trips, nature mentoring, or a single forest school session for children or adults).

To apply for a partial or full scholarship for any of our programs, please reply Yes to the financial assistance question on the lottery application form. We appreciate our sponsors who allow us to make Forest School accessible to as many families as possible, including Scavenger Hunts by Let's Roam and Adventures from Scratch.

Enrolling parents & guardians: If accepted, you'll need to read our school Handbook here to sign the waiver AND follow the registration link in the e-mail you receive in order to reserve your spot.
