Prairiewood Forest School
in Coyle, OK

Prairiewood Forest School is a secular educational program offering a full-time hybrid microschool option for students in grades 6-12, as well as weekly enrichment classes for ages 1-17.

Join us to discover the joy, community, and learning opportunities brought about by engaging, student-directed, nature-immersed experiential learning!

At Prairiewood, we offer playful, inquiry-led immersion opportunities for children and youth to connect with community, personal creativity, and the natural world. Many classes take place fully outdoors in our 580 acre Outdoor Classroom, where we get to feed the chickens, plant wildflowers, wander the prairie labyrinth, observe tadpoles in the pond, create in the mud kitchen, and explore the mossy forested trails. Labs and microschool classes explore and learn in the outdoor spaces as well, and also spend up to half of each project-based learning session in our Studio Space or the on-site Cimarron Library.

Students of any age (starting at 1 year old!) are invited to enroll in one or more weekly enrichment class. A limited number of Middle and high school students can join our project-based Microschool, which includes classes covering a wide range of interdisciplinary topics on-site each Wednesday-Friday, and an individual learning plan for completing curriculum from home 2-3 days a week.
